Key Moments in His Life

1. Early Acceptance of Islam

Abu Bakr (RA) was among the very first people to embrace Islam, immediately after the Prophet ﷺ received revelation. He believed without hesitation and began spreading the message among others.

🔹 Because of his efforts, several major companions accepted Islam, including:

Uthman ibn Affan

Talha ibn Ubaydullah

Zubair ibn al-Awwam

Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas

Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf

 The Title "As-Siddiq"

When the Prophet ﷺ went on the miraculous Isra and Mi'raj (night journey), many doubted it. But Abu Bakr said, "If the Prophet said it, then it is true."

He was given the title As-Siddiq — the truthful and confirmer of truth.

The Hijrah (Migration)

When the Prophet ﷺ was ordered by Allah to migrate to Medina, Abu Bakr was chosen to accompany him.

He risked his life hiding with the Prophet ﷺ in the Cave of Thawr.

Abu Bakr cried out of love and fear for the Prophet's safety.

This journey bonded them even more deeply.

Support and Sacrifice

Abu Bakr spent his wealth generously for the sake of Islam.

He freed slaves like Bilal ibn Rabah, who were tortured for becoming Muslim.

During the Battle of Tabuk, he donated all his wealth — when asked what he left for his family, he said:

“I left Allah and His Messenger.”

Becoming the First Caliph

After the death of the Prophet ﷺ in 632 CE, the Muslims were in shock and confusion.

Abu Bakr (RA) addressed the people and famously said:

"Whoever worshipped Muhammad, know that Muhammad is dead. But whoever worshipped Allah, know that Allah is ever-living and never dies."

He was then chosen as the first Caliph (Khalifa) of the Muslim Ummah.

His Caliphate (2 Years of Leadership)

Despite the short period (632–634 CE), his rule was extremely important:

Fought against apostasy and tribal rebellions in the Ridda Wars

Preserved unity of the Muslim nation
